The name that has been adopted for team that is representing Bangalore gives a fairly good idea of the owner. Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya and his UB group has bought the team and named it Bangalore Royal Challengers to associate his liquor brand Royal Challenge. The CEO of the team is Charu Sharma with former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe as an advisor.
International players have been selected with Jacques Kallis as the costliest player with US$ 900,000 as his fee. Then follow Cameron White, Mark Boucher, Nathan Bracken, Dale Steyn and Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Abdur Razzaq and Misbah-ul-Haq have been selected from Pakistan.
Head coach for the team is Venkatesh Prasad who has a good reputation due to recent wins of the Indian Cricket team in the international cricket circuit. Some of the best players have been taken into the team and some fireworks are surely expected from them in the inaugural matches in April.
