By Cricket Expert
With the Champions League Twenty20 which is scheduled to happen this year, there is going to be a lot of action in the field of cricket. From around the world, there will be an amassing of the best cricketing talents of the world from teams like India, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, etc.
Eight teams will be part of the Champions League from which two groups have been made. The Group A teams include Chennai Superkings, Victorian Bushrangers, and Titans from Pretoria and Crusaders from Middlesex. The other teams which include Sialkot Stallions, Rajasthan Royals, Western Australian Warriors and Dolphins from Natal are included in the Group B of the teams.
Mumbai will be the host for the opening match which will be played between Crusaders of England led by Shaun Udal and Bushrangers of Australia which is led by Cameron White and coached under Greg Shippered. County teams like these have a reputation for their professional approach. Another consistent team is the Victorians which have won many titles and has cricketing stars like David Hussey, Brad Hodge, etc. It is going to be a head-on clash between the two excellent teams and will give the required pump to the tournament on the start itself.
The Group A has two other performing teams which are the Chennai Super Kings and the Titans. MS Dhoni and his boys which include Mathew Hayden, Badrinath, Muttiah Muralitharan, Makhaya Ntini, Manpreet Gony who are all performers. A great support from the crowds is expected for this team since it is their home team and will surely cheer for a better performance. The Titans team on the other hand is led by Pierre Joubert and coached by Richard Pybus. The team has cricketers like Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers and others who look really strong and also got the team the current Standard Bank Pro20 Series title.
The Sialkot Stallions team from Pakistan is also no amateur in cricket. They already have set a record of winning 16 matches in a row and are aiming highly in the Champions League Twenty20 too. Shoaib Malik is leading the team and will face the Western Australian Warriors on just the second day of the tournament in Bengaluru. After this match, one will be able to guess the list on the semi-finals schedule. Coached by Tom Moody and led by Marcus North, the Western Australian Warriors team also seems to be of great caliber with players of the likes of Shaun Marsh, Luke Ronchi and Pomersbach.
The Dolphins from South Africa are another team which is captained by Ahmed Amla and the team also has his younger brother Hashem. Another member of the team is Yusuf Abdullah who is expected to outperform the main stars of the show and prove to be someone of real worth in the Champions League.
It is the unpredictability of the format of Twenty20 which makes it so interesting and intriguing till the last over is bowled. No one can make sure predictions in such a tournament which is so full of teams which are stable and performing. The sure favourites are Super Kings, Bushrangers, Titans and Rajasthan Royals.
Let the best team win and May the best men take the trophy away. Let’s wait for the excitement to unfold with the Champions League Twenty20.
