IPL T20 Cricket

The IPL T20 cricket has become a great hit not only in India but also in other countries throughout the world. Indian Premier League (IPL) is a cricket tournament that is played in the new twenty20 format of cricket. It was first established by the BCCI in 2007. The eight franchises will first of all play against one another and then the top four teams will figure in the two semi-finals and then for the grad final.

However, a few changes have been made in the IPL 2009 season. The number of foreign players has been increased from 8 to 10 in the 2009 season and the limit of players purchase has been increased from 5 to 7 million. The transfer window for IPL T20 cricket 2009 was open on December 22nd and closed on January 22nd. The player who took part in the 2008 season is only eligible for transfer in this duration. All the 8 franchisees are eligible to buy or sell cricketers in this period.

No player can be transferred by the IPL franchisees without the consent of cricketer. The franchisees can opt for swapping of cricketers on mutual terms. The auction for the second season of the IPL will be held on 6th February. Some of the hot targets of this auction are Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen.
