The IPL schedule 2009 is about to make its beginning in the month of April 2009. The tournament will continue for a period of 44 days and the matches played for the entire tournament would be 59. There are total eight teams taking part in the IPL 2009. Just like the 2008 IPL, this year also it is expected that large fans will congregate to the grounds throughout India. The Indian Premier League was established in 2007 by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The first season debut was made in 2008. The League Chairman and Commissioner, Lalit Modi also announced that the format of the tournament will remain the same as that of the inaugural season.
