Indian Premier League Officials

The Indian Premier League is the pet project of the financially powerful BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), which is primarily a response to the recent Essel Group venture, ICL (Indian Cricket League). It is a much awaited tournament that is based upon the much famed Twenty20 format of cricket, especially with the recent victory of India in the Twenty20 World Cup.

However, despite being associated with the BCCI, the Indian Premier League (IPL) would be considered as an independent entity. A separate governing council of Indian Premier League has been set up to look into its activities, and manage them efficiently. The officials of this council would include BCCI members along with some of the former cricketers as inclusive of Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, who would be entitled to remuneration in lieu of their services. Amongst the BCCI officials would comprise its former President I. S. Bindra, vice-Presidents Rajiv Shukla, Chirayu Amin and Lalit Modi, Arun Jaitley.

The prime aim of these Indian Premier League officials would be as follows:

» Confer Franchises and to set the rules of the competition

» In charge for advertising the centrally controlled business privileges

» Organize the IPL (Indian Premier League)tournament schedule

» Manage Franchise tour and lodging line-up

» Provide general advice to Franchises on the management of local revenues

» Work with Franchises to ensure time and again as well as maintain high values of match day performance

» Offer Franchises with a manual of match administration necessities

» Make umpires and other match officials accessible
